To ensure your brand voice resonates with your target audience, it's essential to understand their needs and emotions. During this User Needs Exercise, we will set a 5-min timer and everyone will quickly jot down words or phrases on the Board below that describe how your target audience might feel before and after interacting with your organization's content. This exercise will shape your brand voice to align with your audience’s expectations.
5 minute timer: Write down words or phrases to describe how our target audience might be feeling before they interact with our content. For example, when they arrive on our website, how are they feeling? Bored? Excited? Overwhelmed? Confused?
5 minute timer: Write down words or phrases to describe how you want **our target audience to feel after interacting with our content. Depending on the project, you can also tie this in with a business goal. For example, if they arrive on our website feeling confused or overwhelmed, you might want our content to help them feel informed and confident so that they engage further.
For each target audience, identify one word from the list that describes how they feel before they interact with our brand and one word that describes how they feel after they interact with our brand.

After that initial brainstorm, we will all identify our top three adjectives using the Like buttons.
